Every year around New Year’s we make resolutions. But more fun than resolutions are tried and trusted favorites that you can actually maintain throughout the year – and will make you look and feel your best!

So, this year, here are 3 tips to make it a 'prettier' 2012!

1. Cleanse before working out. We’re confident that by this point you know the importance of washing your face before bed and after hitting the gym, but did you know that cleansing before working out is just as important? When you sweat, your pores open and the grease and grime on your skin enters your skin – and gets trapped within – leading to clogged pores and breakouts! So always start your workout with a clean face.

2. Stop picking. We know how tempting it is to pick at that pimple that’s popped up out of nowhere, but this year we encourage you to stop! Picking or popping a blemish causes redness, increases healing time and can lead to infection. So step away from the pimple.

3. Save money on beauty treatments. Facials are an ultimate luxury, but if saving money is one of your resolutions, there is no need to spend $100 for a professional facial. Instead, make your own! Start with a full-fat plain Greek yogurt base and add mashed bananas if you have acne, honey for added hydration and a few tablespoons of red wine for anti-aging benefits. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes and rinse with warm water.
